To mark Dubai Arbitration week, Hogan Lovells is hosting a breakfast briefing in which you will hear perspectives from three industry specialists on the on-going shift in the arbitration landscape in Africa. Understanding the dispute resolution framework is essential when entering into business in any new jurisdiction. This seminar will provide you with crucial insights into what to expect when conducting business across African countries.

Our speakers are:

Leyou Tameru is the Founder and Managing Director of I-ARB Africa, based in Ethiopia. Leyou will give a useful overview of the different arbitration institutions operating in Africa.

Yemi Candide-Johnson is the President of the Lagos Court of Arbitration. Yemi will provide an institutional perspective, including looking at how the different institutions can compete.

Andrew Mackenzie is Counsel at Hogan Lovells and an international arbitration specialist, based in Dubai. Andrew will discuss how organisations should select an arbitral institution, either in or outside Africa.
