Tribunal constituted in ICSID case against Côte d’Ivoire

In a waste management dispute between an Ivorian Company and the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, the company, Wise Solutions CDI, took the case to ICSID on December 29 of last year. The tribunal was constituted on June 6 and the arbitrators were appointed by the parties. The claimant appointed Bernard Hanotiau, a Belgian national, while the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire appointed Brigitte Stern, a French national. Both parties then appointed Raed Fathallah, a dual Canadian-Lebanese citizen, to preside the arbitral tribunal.

It is to be noted that the claimant, Wise Solutions CDI, is represented by Sohou Law based in Michigan, U.S.A, while the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire is represented by Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton based in Paris; Arent Fox based in District of Columbia, U.S.A and SCP d’Avocats Klemet Sawadogo Kouadio based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
