Ramaphosa appoints Moseneke to lead Lesotho SADC mediation team

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed former deputy chief justice Dikgang Moseneke to lead a Southern African Development Community (SADC) mediation team in Lesotho.

Ramaphosa says he has confidence in Moseneke’s experience and expertise in constitutionalism.

The president was appointed by the SADC heads of state as a facilitator in Lesotho following the country’s security and political challenges back in 2014.

Moseneke’s high ranking role follows his role as chair of the Life Esidimeni Arbitration Hearings which investigated the deaths of at least 143 psychiatric patients.
